This 5 Days Amboseli, Tsavo East and Tsavo West safari is a wonderful safari that takes you to three of Kenya’s national parks, offering a diverse range of landscapes, wildlife and cultural experiences. This safari allows you to explore the majestic elephants and breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro views of Amboseli, the vast, arid landscapes and the red elephants of Tsavo East and the rugged, volcanic terrain and diverse wildlife of Tsavo West, providing an unforgettable experience of Kenya’s natural beauty and rich wildlife heritage.

Day 1: transfer to Amboseli national park.

On the first day of the safari, your safari guide will pick you up either from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or from your hotel in Nairobi and brief you about the 5-day safari. After the briefing you will embark on your journey to Amboseli National Park as you will pass through a diverse range of attractive landscapes. The first notable attraction along the way is the Athi River; this is the scenic spot that marks the boundary between the capital city and the Great Rift Valley. As you continue south, you will pass through Emali town, which is the commercial center that’s home to the Akamba people and offers a glimpse into their traditional way of life.

Next you will drive through the Loitokitok district and see the majestic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Along the way you can stop at the local markets and curio shops, where you can purchase traditional handicrafts and souvenirs. And finally, as you arrive at Amboseli National Park, famous for its majestic elephant herds. You will check in at your lodge and be served with lunch after lunch you will be transferred to the park for the afternoon game drive.

On the game drive in the plains of Amboseli national park, you will enjoy views of the wide-open grass plains with the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background, the highest mountain in Africa. The plains of Amboseli, dotted with scattered acacia bush host various wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, and giraffes, in the park’s popular best spots like Observation Hill and the Sinya area, which is the favorite haunt of the park’s famous elephant bulls that offers you breathtaking views and unforgettable wildlife encounters against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. After the afternoon game drive, you will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: full-day game drive.

On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide and go for a thrilling morning game drive; this is where you are going to spot the large herds of African elephants, lions, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and many more in the popular spots like Longinye swamp and the Amboseli swamp, as well as the numerous bird species. You will explore the Ol Tukai area, where you can spot the antelopes, zebras, and wildebeests, and the Kiradu area, a favorite haunt of the park’s famous elephant herds that offers an unforgettable safari experience.

Alternatively, the tourists can go for the Maasai Village tours in Amboseli National Park, which offer tourists a unique and enriching cultural experience, thus allowing the visitors to gain information into the traditional way of life of the Maasai people, one of Kenya’s iconic and enduring tribes.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Maasai Manyatta, or village, where you will be welcomed by the villagers and introduced by their traditional and daily life, like unique architecture, clothing and jewelry, as well as their rich cultural heritage and history, which offers tourists fascinating and memorable experiences. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will be transferred back to the park for the afternoon game drive, during which you will spot the Big Five mammals, including buffaloes, rhinos, lions, leopards, and elephants, as well as various bird species like the Grey Crowned Crane, African Fish Eagle, and Maasai Ostrich. After the experience, you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Tsavo east national park.

On the third day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast, and check out from your lodge, meet your safari guide and get ready to transfer to Tsavo East National Park. You will pass through a wonderful road with the perfect views along the way along the way you will pass through the town of Taveta and continue driving through the lush, tropical landscapes of the Taveta valley which is known for its rich volcanic soil and diverse agricultural activities.

The park’s entrance is marked by the Yatta plateau, which is a unique geological feature that’s characterized by a 30-kilometer long lava flow once you arrive, you will check in to your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to the lodge for the afternoon game drive this is when you are going to sight the gorgeous big five mammals, which include the lions, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards, and then elephants, among many others, without forgetting the diverse numbers of bird species and after the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Tsavo West National Park.

On the fourth day of the safari, you will wake up early in the morning and be served breakfast, and after the breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and go for the morning game drive. During the experience, you will spot a variety of wildlife species, including elephants, which are famous in this national park; lions; jackals; leopards; duikers; elands; hartebeests; rhinos; buffaloes; giraffes; and baboons, among others; and you will watch various bird species, including the Kori Bustard, Secretary Bird, African Fish Eagle, Lilac-breasted Roller, and European Roller, among others.

After the morning game drive you will begin your journey to Tsavo West National Park; this is where you will pass through the scenic landscape of the rolling hills. You will pass through the Kitani Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area that’s home to a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes and many others. The drive, which takes around 2 to 3 hours, offers a perfect introduction to the unique landscape and wildlife of the Tsavo ecosystem and serves as a precursor to the incredible experience that awaits you in Tsavo West.

Upon your arrival you will check in to your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will go for the afternoon game drive to enjoy the sighting of various animal species that you missed in Tsavo East National park, you will visit Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, the protected area that is home to the large population of the endangered black rhinos, and the Kudu Valley a scenic area known for the dense thickets and grasslands that attract a wide range of wildlife like kudus, antelopes, and gazelles, among others.

Or optionally, you can go for the guided nature walks in Tsatu hills and Chaimu hills in the park that offer an immersive and exhilarating experience, allowing you to connect with nature and observe the wildlife up close like giraffes and antelopes, and observe various bird species. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Enroute morning game drive and departure.

On the last day of the safari, you will wake up early in the morning, enjoy breakfast, check out from your lodge, and then meet your safari guide for the transfer to Nairobi. You will have an en-route game drive as you are exiting the park; this is when you are going to watch the early risers like the lions, buffaloes, leopards and many others. After, you will proceed with your journey to Nairobi; along the way, you will have the en-route lunch. After lunch you will proceed with your journey to Nairobi and your safari guide will drop you at your convenient place that is either at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home or at your hotel in Nairobi, which will make your safari come to an end.
