Guide visiting to Meru National Park

Guide visiting to Meru National Park : Meru National Park occupies an area of 870 square kilometres and is remote, rocky, and notably unspoiled. Despite being mostly in the forest, the park is breathtakingly gorgeous. There aren’t many locations like this fantastic spot. The park shares borders with Kora National Park to the southeast and Bisanadi National Reserve to the northeast. Meru Park takes pride in its history of bringing Joy Adamson’s best-selling book “Born Free” together. The Adamsons’ experiences and lion and cheetah study served as the inspiration for the script. Born Free is the film that made George and his wife Joy Adamson most famous. The film is based on the real-life tale of Elsa the Lioness, an orphaned cub who was saved, reared, and then returned to the wild.  Safari enthusiasts are drawn to the park by this plot line.

Meru National Park—home of Joy and George Adamson and their lions—is the destination for a historical African dream holiday.  The park, which is east of Mount Kenya, is 336 square miles (870 square kilometres) in size and is home to distinctive geological features, grasslands, and hills.  The park is essential to preserving the Tana River’s ecosystem, and conservation work is carried out in Kora National Park, Bisanadi, Rahole, and Mwingi National Reserves in addition to the park itself.  Just beyond the horizon at Meru National Park, a variety of habitats can be found.

The Nyambeni Hills, volcanically-enriched soil, and verdant vegetation make up the northwest portion of the park.  With its greyish volcanic relics strewn across a level landscape, the topography changes to the lowlands as you move east. Randomly there are noticeable inselbergs of basement rock arise, most notably Mughwango and Leopard Rock.  Two other rivers, the Ura River and the Rojeweru River, respectively, constitute the south-western and eastern borders in addition to the Tana River along the southern border.

Meru Park has been a secure haven for both plants and animals thanks to its efficient wildlife management. Parts of the park have been declared road-free wilderness to improve wildlife and habitat protection.  The park is home to over 300 making it a birding safari destination too with different kinds of birds, and Peter’s finfoot is particularly easy to record in the Rojeweru River.  Some of the rare species seen at Meru National Park are Aardwolves, caracals, and smaller kudus. Elands, bush pigs, elephants, bohor reedbucks, gerenuks, Grevy’s zebras, and reticulated giraffes are just a few of the other herbivores you might encounter during a game drive safaris .  In addition to the 84-square-kilometer black and white rhino refuge in Meru National Park, hippos can unwind in the cool waters of thirteen spring-fed rivers.  Cheetahs, lions, hyenas, leopards, crocodiles, and many more are examples of predatory animals.

Apart from the environmental importance of the region, the Meru desert is widely recognised as the motivating scene for the movie “Born Free”. Joy and George Adamson’s work is honoured by a number of local landmarks, including Elewana Elsa’s Kopje.  Their efforts significantly improved the conservation of wildlife and altered the public’s opinion of East Africa’s spectacular species.  Game drives, nature walks, trekking, biking through communities, fishing, picnicking at Adamson’s Falls, and much more are ways to experience everything that Meru has to offer.

The former residence of Joy and George Adamson, as well as the nearby communities outside the park, are highly recommended by Kenya Wildlife Safari Tours for a unique cultural experience of the Ameru or Ngaa tribal people.  We think that your safari in Meru Park will inspire you to write your own tale of Kenya, her wildlife, and her timeless beauty.

Meru National Park is a top off-the-beaten-path destination for both novice and seasoned African junkie travellers due to its temperate climate and diverse landscape.  Depending on the time of year, average daily temperatures vary from 70 F (21 C) to 80 F (27 C).  The warmest months are January through March, while the coolest days are June through August.  There is little variation in the average nightly low temperature, which ranges from 53 F (12 C) to 57 F (14 C).

Given that the Kenyan highlands can turn chilly in the evenings and early mornings, we advise you to pack a warm fleece or jumper along with additional layers of clothes for warmth.  No matter the time of year, Meru National Park provides the best Kenyan safari experience because to its moderate daytime temperatures.  However, when choosing the time of your outdoor vacation in Meru Park with kenya safari, we do suggest our clients to take other climate conditions into account.

The Masai Mara migratory season and summer vacations for American and European families fall inside the long dry season.  Together with the best time of year to see wildlife, this means that you will interact with a little bit more people than you would at other times of the year, albeit on a much smaller scale in Meru.  November and December are the brief wet season.  Usually, only brief afternoon and evening showers fall during this time.  This small amount of precipitation evaporates fast in tropical Kenya, therefore it should be safe to travel on the roads and trails.  Except for Christmas and New Year’s, when many kenya safari visitors arrange their celebratory holidays in Eastern Africa, visitor numbers are fewer during this period than throughout the lengthy dry season.
