7 Days Best of Uganda safari
This exhilarating week-long Uganda safari begins with a journey to Uganda’s premier tourist destination. Beyond the park’s striking scenery and diverse bird and monkey species, you’ll be awe-struck by the sight of the majestic mountain gorilla during your gorilla trekking Uganda adventure.
Day 1: Pick up and drive to Kibale national park
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala on the first day of your safari and welcome you for the Uganda safari. You will also have a short briefing before starting your journey to Kibale nationl park.
You will be driven for about 5 to 6 hours to get to Kibale national park and along the way you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and also see tree plantations as well as crater lakes and the Rwenzori mountains. Your guide will drive you to the lodge for check in and you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge as you prepare for a chimpanzee trek in Kibale national park. You will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking.
After briefing, you will be allocated a ranger guide and proceed into Kibale forest to start searching for the chimpanzees. You will also see other primates in the forest during chimpanzee trekking such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, l’hoest monkeys among others. You will also see a variety of bird species in Kibale forest. After spending time with the chimpanzees, taking photos and recording videos, you will return to the park headquatres and meet your guide ahead of your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After having breakfast at the lodge you will go for an early morning game drive around Queen Elizabeth national park where you will search for wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, warthogs, antelopes, waterbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas among others in the savannah plains. After the morning game drive you will have lunch.
You will also engage in an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which connects lake Edward and lake George. The boat cruise will take about 2 to 3 hours and you will enjoy seeing wildlife species along the shores of the lake as well as different bird species and after the boat cruise, you will be driven back to the lodge wher eyou will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
You will have early breakfast at the lodge as you prepare for your drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will drive through the Ishasha sector which is famous for tree climbing lions which can be seen in the acacia/ fig tree branches.
Your guide will drive you to the lodge in Bwindi national park for check in and you will also prepare for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park
After an early breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing of gorilla trekking. You will be allocated ranger guides and move in groups of 8 to search for gorillas in Bwindi forest. You will follow different trails as you search for the gorillas and when you find them you will spend one hour with them and enjoy taking photos and recording videos.
You will also observe the gorillas and after this experience your guide will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: drive to Lake Mburo national park and afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast and checking out of the lodge, you will start your joureny to Lake Mburo national park where you will have lunch at your lodge.
You will have lunch at the lodge and later engage in an afternoon boat cruise in the national park and during the activity, you will see various wildlife species, enjoy the beautiful scenery and also see different bird species. After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge to relax and have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: drive to Entebbe airport
You will start the day with ealry breakfast at the lodge, check out and start your joureny to Entebbe international airport where your guide will drop you off which will bring the tour to an end.
